1. Initial Assessment and Pregnancy Confirmation

 

 

2. Regular Prenatal Check-Ups

 

• Routine visits to monitor the mother’s blood pressure, weight, and overall health.

• Tracking fetal growth and development by measuring fundal height and fetal heart rate.

• Monitoring for any pregnancy-related conditions, such as preeclampsia or gestational diabetes.

 

3. Blood Tests and Screenings

 

• Blood type and Rhesus factor check, along with antibody screening if needed.

• Screening for anemia, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and other conditions.

• Tests for infectious diseases (e.g., HIV, hepatitis B, rubella immunity, syphilis).

• Optional genetic screening and counseling for congenital conditions, such as Down syndrome.

 

4. Ultrasound Examinations

 

• First-trimester ultrasound for dating and early structural assessment.

• Anatomy scan at around 18-20 weeks to check for abnormalities.

• Additional growth and well-being ultrasounds later in pregnancy, especially for high-risk cases.

 

5. Nutritional and Lifestyle Counseling

 

• Guidance on healthy eating habits, weight management, and exercise during pregnancy.

• Information on supplements like folic acid, iron, and prenatal vitamins.

• Advice on avoiding substances that may harm the pregnancy, including alcohol, tobacco, and certain medications.

 

6. Vaccinations and Preventative Care

 

• Vaccinations, including influenza and Tdap, to protect both mother and baby from infections.

• Regular checks for signs of infection or other health issues.

 

7. High-Risk Pregnancy Management

 

• Specialized care and monitoring for high-risk pregnancies (e.g., preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, multiple pregnancies, advanced maternal age).

• Additional screenings,such as umbiflow, to monitor fetal health.

• Referrals to sub-specialists or maternal-fetal medicine if advanced care is needed.

 

8. Labor and Delivery Planning

 

• Assistance in creating a birth plan, including preferences for pain management and delivery methods.

• Discussion of potential delivery options (e.g., vaginal birth, C-section) and preparation for any complications.

• Information on signs of labor and when to go to the hospital or birth center.

 

9. Mental Health and Emotional Support

 

• Screening for mental health concerns, such as prenatal anxiety or depression.

• Providing resources and support for emotional well-being during pregnancy.

• Referrals to counseling or therapy if needed.

 

10. Postnatal Care Planning

 

• Preparation for postpartum care and guidance on physical and emotional recovery.

• Information on breastfeeding support and newborn care.
